Seguimos en medio de la nada, en medio de la incertidumbre
Una vez digerido por el mercado el acuerdo alcanzado en el seno del Área Euro la semana pasada, tras el nerviosismo del propio lunes, los ojos financieros se dirigen al otro lado del Atlántico y ciñen su atención a la falta de sintonía entre Demócratas y Republicanos para llegar a un acuerdo que eleve el techo de deuda de EEUU, el cual vence el próximo martes 2 de agosto.

Condición sine qua non para que el país pueda emitir nuevo papel que permita cumplir con sus necesidades de pago más acuciantes. A pesar de la plausibilidad de que se rubrique el compromiso entre los principales partidos estadounidenses, cada vez son más las casas de análisis (las últimas son BlackRock o Franklin Templeton) que ven peligrar la AAA de EEUU, al igual que el punto de mira de las agencias de calificación crediticia apunta a la nota que corona la deuda pública de la primera economía del mundo.
Con este telón "político" de fondo, el signo mixto (positivo incluso) de las últimas referencias macroeconómicas a nivel global y unos resultados corporativos que han sorprendido al alza no han conseguido atenuar el pánico reinante entre los inversores, de modo que hemos vuelto a asistir a un importante sell-off entre los activos de riesgo. El mini rally bursátil posterior al acuerdo europeo ha quedado evaporado, al igual que el tensionamiento de tipos ha vuelto a adueñarse de las curvas periféricas de deuda.
En este contexto, ante un proceso de desapalancamiento público que no ha hecho más que iniciar sus pasos, las dudas sobre la desaceleración del crecimiento económico continuarán siendo un mal compañero de viaje del mismo. La hoja de ruta para la reducción de los niveles de deuda continúa siendo una incógnita, toda vez que el riesgo geopolítico, que antaño era valorado a la hora iniciar posiciones en economías emergentes, hoy día cotiza (al menos el riesgo político) de manera preocupante entre los mercados desarrollados. Ante esta tesitura, la incertidumbre continuará siendo la principal variable que debe ponderar la asignación de activos.
