Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), líder en soluciones de control de fronteras, presentó hoy su controlador de intercambio de políticas (PEC): Director de Políticas Net-Net®. Un PEC es una nueva clase de producto que hace frente a retos clave en materia de seguridad, interoperabilidad, enrutamiento y escalado en redes todo-IP de próxima generación. El Director de Políticas Net-Net soporta múltiples aplicaciones (roaming de datos y voz en redes LTE, agregación de contenidos y prestación federada de servicios) al posibilitar el intercambio de información sobre políticas entre redes LTE e IMS del proveedor del servicio y a través de fronteras de redes LTE.

Las redes de evolución a largo plazo (LTE) y las redes de subsistema multimedia IP (IMS) necesitan intercambiar información sobre políticas entre elementos de red para cada sesión de datos, voz y multimedia de cada usuario. El protocolo de señalización IP que da soporte a este intercambio de información es Diameter. Un PEC es un nuevo elemento de red que controla la señalización Diameter, permitiendo una perfecta comunicación y control de información de políticas entre elementos de red en redes LTE o IMS y a través de fronteras de redes LTE. Estas funciones reducen costes, racionalizan las redes y garantizan la disponibilidad de las redes LTE e IMS.

Controladores de intercambio de políticas en redes LTE e IMS

El intercambio de políticas implica la transmisión de información de usuario y de sesión que guarda relación con la autenticación, autorización, ubicación, facturación y calidad del servicio en redes LTE e IMS. Al utilizar la señalización Diameter, este intercambio tiene lugar entre diversos elementos de red de proveedores diferentes, así como entre múltiples proveedores de servicios. En las redes todo-IP de LTE e IMS, la señalización Diameter sustituye a la señalización SS7 en redes TDM móviles y fijas.

"Conforme las redes LTE e IMS crecen en número y en usuarios, el intercambio de políticas basado en Diameter se irá convirtiendo en un factor decisivo en los beneficios de los proveedores de servicios," explica Seamus Hourihan, Vicepresidente de Marketing y Gestión de Producto de Acme Packet.   • Roaming de datos y voz sobre redes LTE - Los PEC aseguran la nueva frontera de señalización Diameter entre los proveedores de servicio visitados y de origen para que los usuarios de roaming puedan acceder a servicios de datos y de voz. Los PEC también permiten a los operadores IPX y hubs de roaming brindar servicios de roaming multilaterales LTE.

El Director de Políticas Net-Net proporciona un control superior de Diameter

El Director de Políticas Net-Net es un Proxy de Diameter basado en estándares y satisface elementos funcionales definidos por los grupos del sector, incluyendo 3GPP Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) y GSMA Diameter Edge Agent (DEA). El Director de Políticas Net-Net soporta múltiples perfiles de Diameter utilizados en redes IMS y LTE.
