eDreams ODIGEO, la agencia de viajes online más grande de Europa, ha encuestado a viajeros de toda Europa para analizar sus preferencias en cuanto a la compañía en sus próximos viajes, enmarcados en la llamada “nueva normalidad”. Según reflejan los resultados del estudio, viajar solo ha dejado de ser un tabú para convertirse en una opción cada vez más valorada por los viajeros europeos: hasta el 41% dice plantearse ahora hacer una escapada en solitario, a la par que el 41 % que optará por viajar en pareja. Le siguen a buena distancia quienes prefieren viajar con sus hijos (17%), en grupos de amigos (10%) o con sus padres (3%).

Estos datos se ven apoyados en el hecho de que hasta el 31% de los viajeros habría replanteado sus compañías de viaje más inmediatas debido a la situación provocada por el coronavirus. De no haberse dado el contexto actual, viajar con la pareja continuaría siendo la opción más popular. Los viajeros que tienen previsto viajar con su pareja se han reducido en un -5% tras la crisis. En cambio, la elección de viajar en solitario habría aumentado su popularidad un 10% en solo unas semanas. Sería la única alternativa en crecimiento, frente a otras como viajar con hijos (-3%), con amigos (-7%) o con padres (-3%).

En general, las medidas de distanciamiento social y las recomendaciones de reunir pequeños grupos habrían podido influir en la responsabilidad y la percepción de seguridad de los viajeros, que se inclinarían cada vez más por viajar solos con el propósito de respetar al máximo estas medidas y evitar las restricciones aplicables a grupos de varias personas, como el aforo en restaurantes y playas, entre otros espacios.

Aunque los viajeros españoles continúan siendo los europeos menos atraídos por el viaje en solitario, su interés por viajar solos también ha aumentado en las últimas semanas, concretamente un notable 10%, el mismo aumento que se ha producido, de media, en el resto del continente.

Vacaciones solitarias, pero vacaciones largas

Los turistas nacionales que se han animado a reservar viajes sin compañía para este verano planean escaparse entre 7 y 13 días (27%). Les siguen los que viajarán entre 3 y 4 días (23%), los que se desplazarán durante más de 21 días o entre 5 y 6 días (15%), los que invertirán entre 14 y 20 días (11%) y los que solo dispondrán de 2 días (9%). La media europea para los viajes en solitario en el periodo analizado se sitúa entre los 7 y los 13 días. 

Los destinos más demandados por parte del viajero solitario autóctono para este verano son Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Tenerife, Barcelona, Gran Canaria, Menorca, Madrid, Sevilla, París y Málaga. Se observa el predominio claro de las islas españolas en convivencia con grandes ciudades europeas. Los destinos nacionales también triunfan entre los viajeros de otros países, de forma que Alicante y Málaga se cuelan en el Top 5 de Reino Unido y países nórdicos y Palma de Mallorca en el Top 3 de Alemania y Austria, siendo el destino favorito en este último.

El viajero solitario que se desplaza desde España cuenta este verano con un presupuesto medio de 221 euros para sus reservas, frente a los 336 euros de los ingleses, los 308 de los viajeros procedentes de países nórdicos, los 322 euros de los suizos, los 320 euros de los franceses, los 270 euros de los alemanes, los 257 euros de los portugueses o los 235 de los austríacos. Solo los italianos invertirán menos que los españoles: 220 euros. De media, los turistas europeos que se desplacen sin compañía se gastarán 283 euros en sus billetes.
