El II Estudio de Audiencia de esports de España, presentado hoy en la feria Madrid Gaming Experience por ESL, la compañía de esports más grande del mundo y miembro del grupo de entretenimiento digital MTG, y Movistar, partner de ESL España, destaca que el usuario medio de esports en España responde a un perfil de un varón de 24 años de edad usuario de redes sociales y plataformas digitales y que invierte más de 5 horas diarias en navegar en Internet.

El estudio, realizado a partir de alrededor de 10 000 encuestas entre la audiencia de los canales de ESL, analiza las principales características, hábitos y tendencias del público español de esports.

Entre las cifras obtenidas durante este año 2017 cabe subrayar que los datos demográficos reflejan que la franja de edad de 25 a 34 años ha aumentado en más de un 7% con respecto al año pasado, mientras que otras franjas de edad, como la de 20 - 24 años, se mantienen estables. Esto es debido a que el consumo y la participación en esta industria no finalizan a una edad concreta, sino que avanzan simultáneamente con la edad y motivaciones de sus consumidores. Por lo tanto, año a año, aumenta la edad media de la audiencia de esports, que este año se sitúa en los 24 años, siendo superior el número de hombres que de mujeres.

En cuanto a los datos referentes al consumo, durante el año 2017, más del 60% de la audiencia dejó constancia de que pasan más de 5 horas diarias conectados a Internet y el 99% utilizan Internet como canal principal de información destacando Movistar como el proveedor de fibra preferido por los consumidores. El uso de la televisión reflejado en el estudio es del 45%, lo que permite ver la relevancia que el público de los esports otorga a “Internet” permitiendo a las marcas y a la industria de los esports en general tener mayor capacidad de impacto en sus potenciales clientes a través de soportes digitales.

En cuanto a las actividades más realizadas, más del 75% de la audiencia del “II Estudio de Audiencia de esports de España” reafirma el uso de las plataformas digitales, como Twitch y YouTube, así como el constante uso de las redes sociales, especialmente Twitter, lo que pone en evidencia la necesidad de las empresas que quieran vincularse en los esports de integrarse en el ecosistema digital para poder ofrecer contenidos dotados de valor utilizando los soportes apropiados así como mantener comunicación bidireccional e instantánea con los consumidores de esports. La actual tendencia de uso y compra de plataformas y dispositivos deja ver que entre el 70-80% de la audiencia adquirieron ordenadores de sobremesa y smartphones en el último año, siendo estas plataformas las más utilizadas para el consumo de internet y esports.

En cuanto a los juegos preferidos por la audiencia de los esports, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive se muestra como el claro vencedor con más de un 60% de la audiencia, seguido de League of Legends y Overwatch.
