PharmaMar y Boryung Pharm firman un acuerdo de licencia para Zepsyre

PharmaMar ha anunciado hoy un acuerdo de licencia con Boryung Pharm para comercializar el compuesto antitumoral de origen marino Zepsyre (lurbinectedina), si se aprueba, en Corea del Sur.

En virtud de este acuerdo, PharmaMar recibirá un pago por adelantado y podrá recibir remuneraciones adicionales por los hitos regulatorios y comerciales alcanzados. PharmaMar conservará los derechos en exclusiva de producción y venderá el producto a Boryung Pharm para su uso comercial, si se aprueba.
 
Zepsyre® actualmente se encuentra en fase avanzada de desarrollo clínico para el tratamiento del cáncer de ovario platino-resistente y pulmón microcítico. Tras los resultados obtenidos en ensayos clínicos sobre cáncer de mama metastásico BRCA 2 y cáncer de endometrio, PharmaMar planea poner en marcha un estudio de registro en cada una de estas indicaciones.

Según Luis Mora, director general de la Unidad de Negocio de Oncología de PharmaMar, "esta es nuestra segunda alianza estratégica con Boryung Pharm y estamos muy satisfechos con nuestro socio. Este nuevo acuerdo supondrá, si se aprueba, la llegada de Zepsyre® al mercado de Corea de manos de uno de los líderes en oncología de este país”. 
 
Por su parte, el CEO de Boryung Pharm, Mr. Tae-Hong Choi, asegura que “estamos muy satisfechos por firmar nuestro segundo acuerdo con PharmaMar y demostrar así nuestra plena confianza en el desarrollo de sus compuestos”. Añade que “Zepsyre® podría convertirse en una alternativa terapéutica para varios tipos de tumores sólidos, incluidos cáncer de ovario resistente a platino, cáncer de mama metastásico BRCA2 y cáncer de pulmón microcítico. Esperamos que esta molécula esté disponible en Corea del Sur si se aprueba”.
