El secretario general de UGT, Pepe Álvarez, ha manifestado este martes en Murcia su rechazo a las bajadas generalizadas de impuestos y ha instado al Gobierno a centrar el próximo paquete de medidas económicas ante el conflicto en Oriente Próximo en "ayudas en origen" para agricultores y en la subvención directa del transporte público.

En una rueda de prensa junto a la máxima dirigente del sindicato en la Región, Paqui Sánchez, Álvarez ha afirmado que "la bajada de impuestos solo beneficia o beneficia fundamentalmente a los que menos necesitan ayuda y soporte", al considerar que las familias que "no llegan" a fin de mes seguirán en la misma situación, aunque se reduzcan los tipos impositivos.

Por ello, ha defendido que cualquier modificación fiscal debe hacerse "pensando en las rentas más bajas" y en ningún caso en las más altas.

En relación a la cesta de la compra, el líder sindical ha calificado de "barbaridad" la propuesta de quitar el IVA de los alimentos ya que considera complicado controlar que esa rebaja llegue realmente al consumidor final y prefiere que se trabaje "desde la perspectiva en origen", mediante subvenciones directas a los agricultores en el precio de los carburantes y los fertilizantes para que no suban los precios de venta.

Respecto a la crisis energética derivada de la situación internacional, ha apostado por un proceso de "subvención y bonificación" del transporte público como la mejor vía para ahorrar en gasto de gasolina y ayudar a la ciudadanía a "coger hábitos más saludables de transporte colectivo" que resulten menos agresivos desde el punto de vista medioambiental.

Álvarez ha advertido de que "para tener Estado hay que pagar impuestos" y ha recordado que los servicios públicos son los que garantizan la protección de los ciudadanos frente a modelos como el del presidente argentino, Javier Milei, que ha definido como "de motosierra".

El dirigente ha exigido al Gobierno de la Región de Murcia que "se moje" y defienda "con uñas y dientes" esta actividad industrial estratégica que produce componentes tecnológicos de futuro para toda Europa, evitando que la empresa "se vaya de rositas" para "ganar más dinero" mediante la deslocalización de la producción.

CONFLICTOS EN EL METAL Y LA SANIDAD PRIVADA

El líder sindical también ha tildado de "escándalo absolutamente insoportable" que la sanidad privada de Murcia carezca de convenio colectivo actualizado "desde el año 2010", provocando que la mayoría de los sueldos se limiten al salario mínimo, y ha lanzado una advertencia a la patronal del metal ante la brecha salarial que sufren las subcontratas de Navantia respecto a otras provincias.

Según Álvarez, un trabajador de las subcontratas en Cartagena percibe "700 euros menos al mes" que uno en Ferrol realizando la misma labor, por lo que ha avisado de que "o cumplen o volveremos a tener conflicto" ya que, según sus palabras, la actual situación de "miseria" del convenio del metal murciano carece de sentido en el contexto productivo actual de la zona.

EL PRIMERO DE MAYO, CONTRA LA "EXTREMA DERECHA"

Álvarez ha situado el próximo Primero de Mayo como una jornada clave para frenar a la "extrema derecha", a la que ha acusado de traer "división, pobreza y falta de convivencia", y reclamar el fin de las guerras y "acabar con esta situación de inestabilidad global" que "no se conocía desde la Segunda Guerra Mundial".

El secretario general ha asegurado que UGT resistirá la "agresión" de quienes atacan a los sindicatos pensando que "si nos quitan la subvención nos vamos a morir", y ha recordado que la organización ya sobrevivió a "50 años de franquismo".

En cuanto al escenario electoral, ha instado a las formaciones situadas a la izquierda del PSOE a aprender de los últimos procesos electorales para establecer una "unidad de acción" similar a la que practican los sindicatos mayoritarios, ya que Álvarez considera que aunque las siglas y los liderazgos son importantes la gente a la que representan "debe estar por encima".

A su juicio, concurrir divididos a las urnas hace que conseguir avances sea "casi imposible" frente a un escenario donde muchos han "dado el oso por cazado" cuando, según su análisis, el oso "está todavía en la cueva y berreando".

En relación a los pactos de gobierno territoriales, Álvarez ha calificado de "malísima noticia para los trabajadores de Castilla y León" que vayan a tener un ejecutivo que les "va a recortar derechos sin ningún lugar a dudas".

Por último, Álvarez ha extendido esta preocupación a lo que ocurre en Aragón o a lo que "parece que va a ocurrir también en Extremadura" donde, a su juicio, se impone una praxis de recorte de libertades y derechos sociales que UGT no va a dejar de denunciar por mucho "afán terrible" que muestren estas administraciones "contra los sindicatos".
