¿Cómo puede influir toda esta tormenta que genera Asia en los mercados?

Dijo hace muchos siglos un pensador romano que “las causas están ocultas y los efectos son muy visibles” y esto es lo que está ocurriendo en estos momentos con China. Si nos atenemos a la última intervención del tesoro norteamericano con la salida tan importante que ha habido de reserva de divisas por parte de China, incluso se ha llegado a decir que se reservaba su opinión en torno a lo que podían estar pretendiendo las autoridades chinas en estos instantes. Cuando nos afrontamos a los datos de China nos enfrentamos como a la gran muralla. Desconocemos o somos muy ignorantes de lo que ocurre detrás de esos datos. Se habla de la devaluación, de la depreciación del yuan, cuando desde nuestro punto de vista desde nuestra casa lo que se está dando es una liberación de la moneda. Hace muchos meses incluso desde el FMI lo primero que se exige a las autoridades chinas es que liberalicen el yuan. Lo hicieron en el mes de agosto y entra una serie de turbulencias que evidentemente hacen que sea un detonante que genera una inestabilidad en los mercados de capitales. Obviamente en paralelo estamos en una situación de desaceleración económica de China, a nadie le pilla por sorpresa. A pesar de los datos de crecimiento económico que hemos conocido. El cambio de modelo está en marcha y no puede hacerse tan rápido. Pero no hay que olvidarse de un tema importante en el tema de China. Están inmersos en un proceso de inversión muy potente en cuanto a infraestructuras. No solo en el área de China, sino también en otros países dentro de la cuenca de Asia, del sudeste asiático. No olvidemos que recientemente se ha firmado el TPP, pero es que previamente se había firmado el apta, que incorpora a China junto con la India. Obviamente tiene un impacto todo lo de China, por todos los movimientos que se dan dentro de su economía a nivel interno como a nivel externo. Nos tenemos que empezar a acostumbrar a un precio de las materias primas bajo, con lo cual eso va a impactar mucho a las economías exportadoras de commodities. Tienen que empezar a hacer reformas. También habrá efecto en mercado de deuda, efecto sobre las divisas. Quiero dejar algo claro: el dinamismo mundial está en el sudeste asiático.

Otro de los focos de atención para los inversores es la subida de los tipos de interés en Estados Unidos. ¿Qué recomendación haría para esto? ¿Habría algún fondo más defensivo?

Que vaya a subir los tipos de interés es algo que está descontado. En relación a la ansiedad que estamos viendo está más relacionada con la magnitud de esa subida. No se van a disparar en los norteamericanos. En un año electoral tengo mis dudas en torno a que la Fed realice movimientos muy bruscos que hagan decantar la balanza de las elecciones en uno u otro candidato. En segundo lugar, el nivel de apalancamiento que hay a nivel mundial es muy elevado. Precisamente la Fed sabe cuál es ese dato de apalancamiento que es muy alto. Cualquier movimiento brusco con respecto a los tipos de interés supondría tensiones de nuevo en los mercados de capitales, precisamente por el cierre de muchas posiciones endeudadas en dólares, que lógicamente tendrían un efecto muy negativo de mucha volatilidad sobre los mercados financieros. En tercer lugar, el propio crecimiento económico de Estados Unidos. También son conscientes de que ese crecimiento no sigue un dinamismo normal como ha sido en otras etapas después de salir de una recesión económica. No estaría tan preocupado por el cuándo, sino sobre todo por el cómo.

En cuanto a productos tendría mucho cuidado con los fondos de renta fija a la hora de que sean defensivos. Es verdad que los datos macroeconómicos dejan cierto margen para que pueda haber relajación en los spread de crédito, pero yo estaría mucho más cómodo con fondos más flexibles. Por ejemplo fondos de la gestora de Pimco, de Janus Capital, de Jupiter. Es decir, fondos de gestión flexible capaces de hacer gestión activa dentro de la curva de tipos de interés norteamericana.

¿Qué oportunidades hay en renta fija?

El activo libre de riesgo no da rentabilidad. Esto lo tiene que tener todo el mundo interiorizado. Eso ya no es así. Gracias a la política hiper expansiva. Cuanto más dinero hay en el mercado ese activo libre de riesgo menor rentabilidad va a ofrecer. Lo que hace es empujar al ahorrador o bien a consumir, gastarse ese dinero, o bien destinarlo a productos que asuman más riesgo o a tener una inversión muy poco remunerada.

¿Habría que irse más a emergentes en este sentido?

Hay una oportunidad en emergentes, efectivamente. Aunque esto no es apto para cardiacos. Sobre todo en deuda emergente en divisa local gubernamental. Es importante la liquidez. No hemos visto la misma liquidez en deuda emergente (divisa local), donde las divisas emergentes han sido muy castigadas y donde hemos visto que han repuntado mucho. Si somos muy selectivos ahí podemos encontrar inversiones interesantes. Esto es una idea para inversores agresivos. Insisto en gubernamental y no corporativa por el tema de la liquidez.

Hemos visto como ha habido sectores bastante penalizados en las últimas fechas como es el caso de la automoción. ¿Vería oportunidad en esta industria con la corrección o es mejor estar al margen?

De forma táctica sí es interesante entrar. De forma estratégica creo que se han sembrado dudas. Volkswagen ha sembrado dudas sobre el sector, pero también la desaceleración no solo de China sino de otras economías emergentes. La menor demanda de vehículos evidentemente hace que haya compañías dentro del sector que hay que tener cuidado a la hora de invertir. Después de la corrección tan fuerte que ha habido en empresas como puede ser Peugot o Renault hemos visto como ha habido un cierto suelo y ha habido un repunte en el precio de cotización de muchas de esas acciones. La clave está en cuál es la demanda que pueda darse en el caso de Europa y también en Estados Unidos. Si no vamos a una recesión económica a nivel mundial, creo que el sector del automóvil dentro de una posición táctica a través de buenos fondos de inversión porque todo tiene su valor y su precio.

¿Cuáles serían sus sectores preferidos por fundamentales?

Nos gusta el sector de la tecnología, en el que estaríamos viendo interés. No solo en las compañías en el tema de software, sino también en semiconductores o el tema de las nubes. Las aplicaciones en el sector de la salud. Más que la biotecnología, el sector de la salud. El envejecimiento de la población creo que es una temática a jugar. Incluso también la mayor demanda por parte de las economías emergentes. Otro sería el consumo discrecional. Luego en el sector financiero el componente de seguros. Ahí podría ser interesante a la hora de podernos posicionar. Podría haber valor ahí.

Dentro del mercado español, habría algunas acciones en concreto que le podríamos echar un ojo?

Más que valores, ya que en nuestra casa no es nuestra especialidad o no es nuestra labor, me fijaría en fondos. Si hablamos de acciones me gusta Inditex o Repsol. Siempre que la vemos llegando a los 10 euros vemos que la cotización repunta. Pero como digo, me centro más en gestores, en fondos de inversión donde hay talento. Ahí tienen en España gestores de enorme talento, que está consiguiendo tanto al Ibex 35 como al índice general de la bolsa de Madrid. Es el caso de Metagestión, fondo metavalor, Gesconsult, Santander, Abante… Es decir, yo más que valores me centraría con nuestra especialidad en la gestión. En gestores de talento a la hora de invertir en renta variable española, que los hay muchos.

¿Qué planes de pensiones serían interesantes?

En planes de pensiones, todo depende el plazo que quede hasta la jubilación. Sin embargo, seguimos confiando en la renta variable como activo porque todavía no se ha roto la credibilidad en los bancos centrales y porque no estamos en un entorno de recesión económica, aunque el crecimiento siga siendo bajo. Y dentro de la renta variable, la europea. Planes como el Santander Renta Variable Europa es un producto que lo está haciendo muy bien y dentro de la categoría de mixtos con gestión flexible, el Bankinter Mixto 50 o Mixto 75, que es un plan que puede tener entre el 35% y el 70% invertido en renta variable.

Pero sobre todo la flexibilidad es clave, al igual que en fondos. La recomendación que tenemos que dar además es que son vehículos de ahorro a largo plazo, no alternativas para recibir regalos ni para deducir a hacienda, con lo que hay que tomárselo en serio pues es el ahorro del futuro.
