Añadir Estrategias de Inversión en Google
Ya tenemos sobre la mesa los datos de Inverco. El patrimonio de los fondos subió más de 3.000 millones en marzo. Pero el saldo en los tres primeros meses es negativo. De ese porcentaje la asociación dice que el 15% es debido a reembolsos. ¿Qué interpretación hay que hacer de estas cuentas?

La primera interpretación es que si solo  un 15% de esa caída de patrimonio se debe a reembolsos es que el otro porcentaje sin duda alguna viene por las sombras que hemos padecido en los mercados financieros. Eso se ha dejado notar y sentir sobre la industria de fondos de inversión. Por otro lado tenemos la gran confianza, que hoy por hoy sigue mostrando los inversores por la figura del fondo de inversión. Que solo el 15% se deba a reembolsos quiere decir que hay muchos inversores que confían en los fondos de inversión. Mirando el informe vemos que había un poco más de un millón de partícipes a 31 de marzo más que en la misma fecha del año pasado. Con lo cual denota del interés por parte del ahorrador español por esta figura. Hay otras luces y sombras o estrellas o estrellados. El patrimonio captado en los tres primeros meses mostró entradas importantes en fondos garantizados de renta variable, que quizás sea la estrella, aunque no estoy totalmente de acuerdo con eso. Y el producto estrellado son los fondos mixtos. Es la categoría donde hoy por hoy están invirtiendo. Los fondos mixtos el año pasado fueron los productos estrella y este año son los productos estrellados. A veces hay que ver lo que se vende por moda y otras lo que se vende por interés de mercado. Esto lo hago a modo de reflexión.

Si antes hablaba de complejidad de los mercados es porque además esta semana estamos pendientes de dos variables: el petróleo y la banca. Yendo a lo primero, tenemos la reunión de Doha el domingo. Muchos expertos creen que no va a suceder nada más allá de que se va a congelar la producción, pero muchos analistas apuntan que el crudo podría haber visto el suelo. ¿Lo cree así? ¿sería momento de apostar por fondos con exposición al petróleo?

La primera realidad es que en estos instantes la producción de barril excede a la demanda. Con eso tenemos que movernos. Hay estimaciones que el año que viene se equilibre esa oferta y esa demanda. Hay un dato importante: en el caso de Estados Unidos se produce el 50% de lo que se producía hace cinco años. Es decir, produce mucho más petróleo de lo que producía. ¿Puede haber un acuerdo? Sí, pero no de reducción de la producción sino de congelación. Si se congela la producción a niveles de enero del 2016 hay que señalar que en esos momentos estábamos en niveles máximos. Por tanto, si la demanda no aumenta evidentemente seguirá habiendo un gap entre oferta y demanda. Eso puede corregirse con un precio del petróleo que puede reducirse. Yo creo que el precio del crudo va a estar contenido. Los niveles en los cuales que creo que se pueden mover Brent y WTI pueden ser niveles de 35 a 50 dólares como mucho.

Eso es positivo a nivel bancario, pero también para el mercado de high yield. Hay muchas inversiones que se han realizado al calor de un precio muy alto del petróleo. Se ha emitido mucha deuda high yield en el sector energético y que haya un cierto suelo indica que hay una especie de rally de paz para los mercados de capitales. Pero que el precio suba más allá del rango que acabo de decir lo veo difícil. Lo veo así porque la demanda sigue siendo más inferior que la oferta. Aún con todo se puede invertir en energía. De manera táctica invertiría en fondos cotizados. Sobre todo en ETFs que estén ligados al Brent o al WTI. Si es una posición menos táctica utilizaría acciones de compañías del sector petróleo dentro de un fondo más regional más que un fondo más puramente sectorial. Creo que hay otras opciones en estos instantes con más visibilidad. Con lo cual sería más cauto hasta que la palabra congelación pasara a reducción o que la demanda fuera  más fuerte. Creo que eso no es lo que se va a pactar.

El segundo factor es el sector bancario. Todos estamos mirando a Italia después de que se haya puesto sobre la mesa un plan de rescate de 3.600 millones de euros para cuatro bancos de la región, aunque se estima que el agujero es de 300.000 millones. ¿Podría dar la banca todavía algún susto?

Siempre hay riesgos de cola en todos los mercados. En caso del sector financiero esos riesgos son muy patentes y muy evidentes. Uno de ellos es que el crecimiento económico lejos de mejorar tuviera algún traspié. La primera variable es fijarse  en el crecimiento económico y la segunda los tipos de interés. Los tipos de interés como se pongan cada vez más negativos esto evidentemente presiona muy mucho los márgenes de beneficios de las entidades financieras. Esto hay que tenerlo muy presente.

La regulación es otra variable. Precisamente el exceso de regulación puede hacer pensar que los bancos son menos vulnerables en cuanto a cualquier evento que se puedan ver inmersos los mercados de capitales con nuevas tensiones financieras. La mayor regulación hace que a las entidades financieras se les exija unos requisitos de capital que muchas veces hacen que tengan que emitir deuda en los mercados. Si hay tensiones les cuesta más emitirla. Con lo cual el exceso de regulación reduce o puede reducir la capacidad de hacer negocio e incluso cuando tienen que mejorar los ratios de solvencia en algunos momentos puede ser un efecto boomerang.

Otra gran variable es el Brexit. Es un riesgo que no lo subestimaría. Hay que tenerlo muy presente. Yo me decanto porque no va a ocurrir, pero el ruido está y puede complicar mucho a muchos entidades financieras, sobre todo en la banca de inversión. Luego si volvemos de nuevo a una guerra energética hay incertidumbre. También en los mercados hay dudas sobre hasta dónde pueden llegar el mercado de derivados dentro de los balances de los bancos, con lo cual eso hace mucho ruido. Hay que acordarse lo que pasó con Deutsche Bank y los derivados de crédito. Esos riesgos pueden volver. El sector financiero no es un sector que me guste. Es mejor estar en real estate antes de estar en el sector de bancos. Creo que todavía es muy vulnerable.

Hay muchas casas de análisis que se decantan apostar por deuda corporativa y por bancos en particular. ¿En qué fondos?

De forma puntual aprovecharía el viento de cola que hay en el sector corporativo. Es verdad que los fondos de renta fija corporativa que recomendamos o no incluyen el sector financiero o lo incluyen de forma testimonial. Está muy infraponderado respecto a su índice. También es verdad que el sector financiero puede estar presente en algún fondo de deuda corporativa básicamente por dos motivos: por efecto contagio. De aquí hay fondos como el Fidelity Euro Corporate Bond, que tiene cartera dentro del sector bancaria, que lleva una rentabilidad por encima del 2% en lo que llevamos de año. Luego el segundo motivo es qué le queda al BCE para intentar estimular. Antes de llegar a comprar bolsa o dar dinero a los ciudadanos creo que puede bajar más los tipos de interés o puede llegar a comprar también deuda bancaria. Una forma de hacerlo es comprar deudas hipotecarias. Hay células hipotecarias tanto españolas o danesas que están presentes en algunos fondos de inversión e incluso hay fondos que solo destinan la cartera a comprar este tipo de activos. Son un tipo de fondos que ha ofrecido un buen resultado. Es lógico que pueda haber correcciones, pero yo las utilizaría para seguir apostando por este tipo de activos porque el viento es de cola y deberíamos aprovecharlo.

¿Dónde están sus principales recomendaciones en este momento?

Las principales recomendaciones serían la deuda corporativa tanto de corto como de medio plazo. La segunda opción es la que acabo de decir: deuda corporativa europea. La tercera, flexibilidad a través de mixtos. Aquí se ofrece un gran valor. En la parte de renta variable estaría atento a ver si el S&P 500 se acerca a su techo para ver si es capaz de superarlo, porque si no lógicamente lo que no voy a hacer es aumentar el peso de la renta variable. Por lo menos no lo aconsejo. Aunque sí hay que tener parte de renta variable. En emergentes nos gusta India y nos gusta China. La nueva China y los sectores que están revisando sus beneficios al alza. Hay una enorme diferencia.
